Postcrossing GB-192241 from U.K.



Postcard Delight presents this postcard of a British historic barque, a type of sailing ship, named Cromdale wrecked in 1913, without loss of life, off the Lizard in thick fog while carrying nitrates from Chile. The Lizard is a peninsula, in south Cornwall jutting into the English Channel, with coast full of cliffs and underwater reefs which posed hazardous to shipping.

The Cromdale was wracked on the Lizard om 23rd May 1913. It was carrying nitrates when it ran aground. A gale a week later caused its total destruction."

Postcard Delight presents this postcard of Moon-Kite Maker. Moon-Kite or "Wau Bulan" in Malaysian language is an intricately design Malaysian handicraft - "Wau" or kite. "Wau Bulan" is just one of its variants. It is still popular in the east-coast states, i.e. Kelantan and Terengganu, of the Peninsular Malaysia.

Postcrossing MY-55036 To Netherlands



Postcard Delight presents this postcard of Putra Mosque at Putrajaya Lake, on the left, together with the Prime Minister's Office at Perdana Putra, on the right. Putrajaya, the new federal administrative city, was named after the first Malaysian Prime Minister, Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra, with the "jaya" as part of the city's name means "victory" in Sanskrit.

Putrajaya (Jawi: ڤوتراجاي) is the third and latest Federal Territory after Kuala Lumpur and Labuan. It resumes the federal administrative function from Kuala Lumpur since 2001.

Postcrossing MY-55038 To U.S.A.


Postcard Delight presents this postcard of Kuala Lumpur Railway Station (Malaysian: Stesen Keretapi Kuala Lumpur). It was built in 1910 with Moorish-style and busy until 2001 when its role had taken by Kuala Lumpur Sentral, which is located just 1km away. Now, it is quite quiet as only the commuter train stops here.
